VIDEO: Remembering Noah Syndergaard's Solo Home Run and Shutout Performance Against the Reds
By Max Staley

When he's right, Noah Syndergaard is one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. Prior to last year's down season, Thor had posted four straight campaigns with a sub-3.30 ERA, including back-to-back seasons with a sub-3.00 ERA.
But arguably his most impressive all-around game came in 2019, when he pitched a shutout and homered for the New York Mets only run of the game, leading the team to a 1-0 victory.
That's right, not only did Thor shutout the opponent, he supplied the Mets' only run of the contest. Essentially, he singlehandedly won his team the game.

He'd understandably struggle to repeat this performance the rest of the year, as it was his only shutout of the season, and he went on to post a middling 4.28 ERA. Currently recovering from Tommy John surgery, hopefully Syndergaard can get back on track when he returns to the bump in 2021.
