Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan will soon be in training camp for the summer, but he had some time to root on a fellow Atlanta squad out on the diamond. In fact, he threw out the first pitch before the Braves took on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon.

Sporting a Braves jersey with his own last name on the back, Ryan threw a perfect strike to mascot Blooper behind the plate. The Braves currently have a 22-24 record on the season and sit 2.5 games back of the New York Mets in the NL East.

Ryan led the Falcons to a poor 4-12 record last year, but the team has the capabilities to bounce back in 2021. All-Pro Julio Jones continues to lead a strong receiving core and the team also drafted a dynamic talent in Kyle Pitts with the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft.

Individually, Ryan led the league in both attempts (626) and completions (407) in 2020 and racked up 4,581 passing yards on the season. He also threw 26 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.

For now, Atlanta fans will keep their eyes on the Braves as the team fights to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. However, it's never too early to start looking ahead to the start of the NFL season.
