For those of you who don't know who Frank Caliendo is, he's the modern day master of impressions. He's done everyone from Presidents, to actors to sports figures, but one of his most well-known impressions is that of Raiders head coach, Jon Gruden.
The impression started back when Gruden was an analyst for ESPN. Now that Gruden has become the Raiders head coach, the possibilities have broadened for Caliendo to use his gift as an advantage, and it seems he's done just that.
Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, Caliendo told a story about him prank phone calling the Arizona Cardinals GM, Steve Keim, ahead of the NFL Draft, acting as Gruden. Caliendo says he had Keim fooled, at least initially, into thinking it was indeed Gruden calling him in hopes of trading for the No. 1 overall pick.
Just the fact that he had Keim fooled at all, regardless of for how long, is a testament to how great Caliendo's impressions are. If he was able to actually pull it off to the point of a move almost being made or a trade being called in by the Cardinals, then man oh man, that might have been the most legendary prank in sports history.
