VIDEO: DJ Humphries Tries Hilarious Trick Against Buccaneers
When it comes to professional sports, it's an athlete's job to do whatever they can (within the rules) to win the game for their team. That could mean a player having one of the best games of their career or, to Arizona Cardinals offensive tackle D.J. Humphries, it could mean trying to trick the opposition.
The Cardinals posted a video to their Twitter account on Friday that reveals the veteran trying to play a trick against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Arizona attempts to kick a field goal. Fortunately, microphones caught exactly what Humphries was trying to pull off.
You'll have to check it out for yourself to hear just how hilarious his trick attempt actually was.

As the teams lined up for the snap, Humphries told the Buccaneers' players that the Cardinals were going to fake the field goal and that they better watch out. It even got to the point where Humphries was telling defensive end William "Ghost" Gholston not to hit him too hard to sell the idea that a fake field goal was happening.
A 2015 first-round selection, Humphries will return to the Cardinals for the sixth straight year as he looks to help them make the playoffs for the first time in six seasons. After all, he's an integral part of Arizona's offensive line. Humphries played in 1,129 offensive snaps last season, which was the most by an offensive tackle in 2020.
He finished the campaign allowing just 3 sacks and receiving an 88.3 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, making him one of the standout players at his position.
The Cardinals are hoping that Humphries' talents and tricks can help them have a successful 2021 NFL season. However, there will be some obstacles to overcome first. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently projecting them to miss the playoffs at -220 odds. Meanwhile, the Cardinal's Super Bowl 56 odds currently sit at +4400.
