Catching a foul ball at an MLB game is a dream for most baseball fans. It's something that's fairly tough to pull off when you consider how small a baseball is relative to the size of a stadium and the number of people in attendance.

An Arizona Diamondbacks fan had the perfect opportunity to catch a foul bowl during his team's game against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. The fan attempted to use both of his hands to catch the perfectly placed ball, only for it to slip right out of them.

Words don't do the momentum justice. Take a look at the video below to see just how gutwrenching it was for him to drop the ball, both figuratively and literally.

The D-Backs fan shows the rawest emotion of just how devastating missing out on a foul ball can be. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many fans and he literally let it slip through his hands.

Fortunately, the Diamondbacks ended up upsetting the Padres, 7-6, after fighting back from a six-run deficit. First baseman Christian Walker won the game for Arizona with a walk-off fielder's choice, so, hopefully, the fan in question at least headed home with a smile.
