The Atlanta Braves have been fighting to catch the New York Mets in the NL East race for a while now. Brian Snitker's club trailed the Mets by as many as 10 games, however, that's no longer the case. As September continues, the Braves are now tied with their rivals for the divisional lead.

The Braves' turnaround has caused FanDuel Sportsbook's NL East odds to grow closer. Even though the Mets' are still -155 favorites to win the division, the Braves are breathing down their neck, sitting at +120.

Unfortunately for Atlanta, New York does have the easier schedule down the stretch, according to Tankathon. The Braves' 26 remaining opponents have an average winning percentage of .484 (No. 20), while the Mets' final foes sit at .430 — the easiest remaining schedule in the Majors.

The good news for Braves fans is that their team has one final clash against their NL East rivals. The two rivals are slated for a three-game series at Truist Park to close out the 2022 campaign. So far, the Mets have won nine of the 16 games thus far. With the way things are going, it wouldn't be shocking if that series decided the division.

Needless to say, the NL East race has been one of the more entertaining ones this season. That's something that likely won't change over the coming weeks.

NL East Odds 2022

1. New York Mets (-155)

2. Atlanta Braves (+120)

3. Philadelphia Phillies (+100000)
