Ty'Son Williams Fantasy Outlook Gets Huge Boost from Justice Hill Injury Update
Ty'Son Williams and Justice Hill were slotted for backup duties behind Gus Edwards once J.K. Dobbins was ruled out for the year. However, Hill's season is also now over after suffering a torn Achilles at practice.
This latest hit to the Baltimore Ravens' backfield gives Williams' fantasy outlook a boost heading into Week 1.

At this moment, Williams is slated for all of the backup work with no other options behind him on the depth chart. That already gives him a slice of fantasy value as a change-of-pace back in relief of Edwards.
However, if Edwards goes down, then Williams is in prime position to be the lead back on a run-dependent team. Baltimore's offense led the league last year with 34.6 rushing attempts per game, plus they signed top guard Kevin Zeitler to beef up their O-line this offseason.
One possible snag that could impact Williams' fantasy upside is if Baltimore adds another back to the equation. The Ravens have already worked out veterans Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman in the wake of Hill's injury. Any addition is a threat that the undrafted RB will have to fend off for backup work.
Still, the path for Williams to be a lead back is much clearer after the Hill injury. That league-winning potential makes him worth taking a flier on in the later rounds of drafts. And if he went undrafted, fantasy managers should rush to put in their waiver claims for him ahead of Week 1.
