Kawhi Leonard is finally back on the court after missing the entire 2021-22 season with a torn ACL. While he has appeared in two games for the Clippers this season, Leonard has now missed eight consecutive games.
Kawhi Leonard Injury Update
Head coach Ty Lue was asked about Leonard's status and shared an update on the team's process in getting him back on the court full time.
Even before his injury, Kawhi Leonard became the poster boy for "load management" in the NBA, which became way more of a trend than the NBA or its fans were comfortable with. Basically it's keeping healthy players out of some games in an effort to reduce the chance of serious injury prior to the playoffs.
That doesn't seem to be what's going on with Leonard right now though, and it is encouraging to hear the Clippers have a plan and are on top of the situation. However, anytime you're missing roughly 80% of your team's games, it can't be that great of a sign.
The Clippers are currently 5-5 on the season, so getting Leonard healthy as fast as possible is of the highest priority. They currently rank No. 4 in FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA Championship odds, at +750.
