Tua Tagovailoa was one of the most efficient passers in NCAA history. The guy put up video game numbers with the Alabama Crimson Tide, finishing his tenure with a career passer rating of 199.4. That's the best such mark in the history of the sport.

Needless to say, there's a lot of hype surrounding the 6-foot quarterback. However, it seems like the oddsmakers missed the memo. Tua's projected stats are so low they can only be described as disrespectful.

The over/under for Tua's passing touchdown total has been set at 11.5, with even -112 odds on both sides, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Meanwhile, the over/under for his passing yardage total has been set at 1999.5, with even -112 odds on both sides as well.

The collegiate legend should have no trouble surpassing those numbers if he can stay on the field. Set to make his first career start this Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, Tua should have 10 full games to rack up numbers.

All he would need to do to beat these totals is average a measly 200.0 passing yards and 1.2 touchdowns per game. There are currently 29 quarterbacks averaging at least 200.0 passing yards per game, and 27 averaging at least 1.2 touchdowns per game. Those are not hard numbers to beat.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was averaging 255.8 passing yards and 1.7 passing TDs per contest through his six starts playing in the same exact system. And just take a look at what the other rookie signal-callers are doing this season.

Joe Burrow is averaging 289.0 passing yards and 1.3 touchdowns per outing, while Herbert is at 308.4 passing yards and 2.4 touchdowns. Remember, Tua was viewed as a significantly better prospect than both prior to his devastating hip injury.

But thankfully, he appears to be back to 100%. Assuming it stays that way, the most efficient passer in NCAA history should have no trouble crushing these projections.
