Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has already shown that he's a rising young star at his position.

However, a thumb injury has nagged him in recent weeks, and the latest injury update clouds his Week 13 fantasy football outlook after he was officially labeled as "questionable" for this Sunday's game.

Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy Outlook

Tagovailoa has registered four starts for the Dolphins, taking over at QB from Weeks 8-11. The rookie averaged 14.5 completions for 148.3 yards per game during that span while throwing for 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

The young QB didn't set the world on fire in his four starts, averaging just 12.28 fantasy points (PPR) per game, which is mostly carried by a 21.42-point performance in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. If he does get the start, he'll remain a risky QB2 option given his lower-end production.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Fantasy Outlook

Veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick would be in line for the start if Tagovailoa is unable to suit up. He has thrown for 1,909 yards and 12 TDs in eight games (seven starts) for the Dolphins this year.

Fitzpatrick has been a much more dependable fantasy option, averaging 17.8 points per game. The vet has four performances of 20+ fantasy points, reaching 27.6 points in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers.

If Fitzpatrick gets the start, fantasy managers in need of QB help should consider the vet, who remains one of the best streaming quarterbacks for Week 13.

Whichever QB gets the nod this week should have success against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that is allowing 18.43 fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.
