After missing his entire rookie season, the Jacksonville Jaguars eased Travis Etienne into the fold in 2022. despite showing flashes immediately, he didn't get his first career start until Week 6.

Now, not even half a game into his third start against the Denver Broncos in London, Etienne has passed Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor to make Jaguars history.

With 285-plus rushing yards in his first three starts, Etienne has been more productive than either of the other two Jaguars all-time great running backs had to start their career.

Etienne went off for 86 yards on the ground against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, 114 in Week 7 against the New York Giants and has been running all over the Broncos so far in Week 8.

Jones-Drew didn't hold the starting role regularly until 2008 while he shared the backfield with Taylor, but he did eventually surpass Taylor's record by rushing for 131 yards in his first start then 48 in his second and 91 in his third. Taylor himself had set the record as a rookie in 1998, rushing for 116, 89 and 27 in his first three starts.

Thanks in part to Etienne's strong first-half performance, FanDuel Sportsbook's live NFL odds have the Jaguars as 3.5-point favorites at halftime to hold on and earn a win over the Broncos.
