Cleveland Guardians fans are likely already used to hearing the name Brayan Rocchio thrown around, but if not, they should. The team's top infield prospect remains on track to make his MLB debut in 2023 after recently being promoted from the Double-A level to the Triple-A level.

Cleveland Guardians News

Rocchio will be suiting up with the Columbus Clippers for the rest of the season following his dominance with the Akron Rubberducks. The 21-year-old posted a slash line of .265/.349/.432 to go along with 62 runs scored, 21 doubles, 13 home runs, 48 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 99 games.

It's been a steady rise for the international free agent out of Venezuela. In 2021, Rocchio slashed .265/.337/.428 with 13 doubles and 14 stolen bases (64 games) in High-A and it prompted a quick promotion. The stellar hit tool and defensive acumen of Cleveland's No. 4 prospect has been on full display.

Keep in mind starting shortstop Amed Rosario only has one year left under team control before he hits the open market in 2024. A plan of calling Rocchio up some time next summer and helping him adjust to the majors in a SS platoon before taking over the starting spot the next year makes sense.

Guardians fans should keep an eye out for whether or not Rocchio begins his Triple-A career on a hot streak. A great start would certainly help him garner a lot of buzz from a fan base hungry for success. For now, Cleveland has odd set at +5000 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
