Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 8

The tight end position looks to be really strong at the top this season, but once we get beyond the elite fantasy producers, there's a ton of variance.

With such inconsistency, there aren't many players that you can consider locks as weekly starters. Instead, fantasy football owners can find an edge by combing the waiver wire for the TEs with the best matchups to get into your starting lineup each week.

These three tight ends, all owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues, are top streaming options for Week 8.

3. Darren Fells, Houston Texans (21% Owned)

Darren Fells saw his snap share drop significantly in Week 7, but that seemed to be a matchup-based game-plan decision for the Texans, as fellow Houston tight end Jordan Akins also played his lowest snap share since Week 4. Fells' workload has been inconsistent, but he's caught five-plus passes twice in the last five games, with at least 12.0 PPR fantasy points in three of those five. The Oakland Raiders rank an ugly 30th in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA rankings, positioning Fells well for a solid outing in Week 8.

2. Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles (16% Owned)

Dallas Goedert's role in the Philadelphia Eagles' offense has expanded recently, playing in at least 55 percent of the team's snaps in each of the last four games – averaging 4.5 targets, 3.0 receptions, 36.0 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game during that stretch. Averaging 9.6 points per game in PPR formats is nothing special, but the TE position is thin this week, giving Goedert some appeal even in a tough matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

1. Noah Fant, Denver Broncos (14% Owned)

Noah Fant only caught one pass in Week 7, but his five targets matched his season high while he topped a 70 percent snap share for the third time. With Emmanuel Sanders and his 19.9 percent target traded away to the 49ers, there should also be some additional volume to go around in the Denver Broncos' offense now, and Fant could be the player to pick up that slack moving forward. This weekend's matchup with Indianapolis is also a great matchup for TEs, as the Colts have allowed the third most PPR points per game to the position. This is a tough week for tight end streaming, with more than 50 percent ownership for all of the players in the top-12 at the position in our Week 8 PPR fantasy football rankings, but Fant surely has the upside if you're scrambling for a starting TE option.
