The fantasy tight end position appears to be really strong at the top this season, but once we get beyond the elite producers, we start to see a ton of variance.

With such little consistency, there aren't many players that you should consider locks as weekly starters. Instead, you can find a big edge by combing the waiver wire for the TEs with the best matchups to throw into your starting lineup each week. This is especially relevant for players that were counting on Will Dissly, who could be done for the season with what the Seattle Seahawks fear is a torn Achilles tendon suffered in Week 6.

These three tight ends, all owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues, are the top streaming options for Week 7.

3. Darren Fells, Houston Texans (4% Owned)

The Houston Texans offense has gone heavy with tight end usage recently, and in Week 6 they played Darren Fells on 87 percent of their offensive snaps and Jordan Akins saw 73 percent. Fells also posted season highs in both targets (seven) and receptions (six) in that game. His usage has been inconsistent, but that was his second game with at least six targets in his last four. Even when he's not getting lots of looks, he's been getting valuable ones, scoring twice on two red zone targets in Week 5.

2. Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins (1% Owned)

Mike Gesicki is also coming off one of his best games of the season, though that still saw him notch just 8.1 PPR fantasy points. He did see a career-best seven targets, giving him a nice boost in PPR leagues with his catch rate likely to bounce back closer to his career average of 62 percent moving forward. A matchup with the Buffalo Bills is a tough one, but as usual the Miami Dolphins will likely find themselves playing from behind, meaning there should be some reasonable volume to go around in the passing game.

1. Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills (8% Owned)

On the other side of that game, the Dolphins have allowed opponents to tally the NFL's most adjusted yards per pass attempt (11.3), while also giving up a touchdown on an NFL-worst 9.9 percent of pass attempts faced. Dawson Knox has steadily seen his role in the Bills' offense increase, culminating in a season-high 72 percent snap share and five targets in Week 5. The potential for an expanded workload in a matchup this good has him sitting at TE12 in our Week 7 PPR fantasy football rankings.
