The tight end position is a pretty tricky one. Outside of a few elite producers at the top of the position, there aren't that many proven assets. The position can also be extremely matchup-dependent, making streaming the position (or picking up a new tight end off the waiver wire) a pretty effective strategy.
Here are our top tight end streaming picks, rostered in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues, to target in Week 7.
Fantasy Tight Ends to Stream in Week 7
3. Logan Thomas, Washington Football Team (14% Rostered)
Logan Thomas continues to see just enough volume to remain fantasy football relevant. But he's coming off of his best game of the season in Week 6, and the matchup with the Dallas Cowboys could be too good to pass up. Dallas is letting everyone into the end zone, surrendering a league-worst 36.3 points per game (PPG). For a TD-dependent TE, you couldn't ask for a better matchup than this.
2. Darren Fells, Houston Texans (6% Rostered)
You'll probably never feel good about starting Darren Fells, but it's hard to argue with what he's done since Jordan Akins went down. Akins missed Week 5 and 6 with a concussion and a high-ankle sprain, and in that time Fells has posted showings of 13.7 and 20.5, respectively. He's not going to be worth a look if Akins is active, but high-ankle sprains often keep players on the shelf for much longer than just two weeks. Facing the Green Bay Packers in a game with a 56-point over/under, per FanDuel Sportsbook, Fells could be looking at plenty of scoring opportunities come Sunday.
1. Anthony Firkser, Tennessee Titans (1% Rostered)
Anthony Firkser broke out in a big way last week, though his fantasy value is completely tied to the health of Jonnu Smith's ankle. If Smith is inactive, as it's looking like he will be, Firkser is a pretty solid Week 7 start. He turned 9 targets in 8 catches for 113 yards and a TD last week, playing a season-high 55% of the team's snaps. He does draw a daunting matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there aren't many waiver wire tight ends likely to see the volume Firkser will in Week 7. He'd be irrelevant if Smith is active, though, so proceed with caution.
