The baseball world lost a true legend on Wednesday when Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver passed away far too soon at the age of 75. Seaver is one of the greatest pitchers in MLB history and he goes unnoticed in that conversation far too much. He was also the greatest New York Met of all-time.
For almost a quarter-century, Seaver held the record for highest percentage of Hall of Fame votes ever (98.8%), until Ken Griffey Jr. narrowly topped that in 2016.
When a great player like Seaver passes away, it provides people an opportunity to relive and remember some of their fondest memories about them, and Seaver is no different. So when Seaver's original scouting report was released, it was an awesome throwback.
It seems like Seaver received rave reviews as early as he could, and oh man did they turn out to be true. Despite it being under sad circumstances, it's nice the younger fans are getting a first-hand peek into Seaver's greatness now.
