It's been over a year since quarterback Tom Brady underwent surgery to fix an MCL tear he suffered with the New England Patriots in 2019. An issue that had hampered his ability to run and jump is no longer a hindrance as the 44-year-old provided a great injury update to reporters on Wednesday.

Tom Brady Injury Update

Brady explained that he originally thought the injury would heal by itself and taped it nearly every day of the 2020 season. That obviously wasn't the case and he opted to take the route of surgery, instead. What was considered to be a clean-up procedure ended up being much more serious reconstruction.

The three-time MVP was ready to go in time for training camp last July, though, and went on to post a career-high 5,316 passing yards in 2021. Brady also led the NFL with 43 passing touchdowns and guided the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their second consecutive playoff berth.

Fast forward to May of 2022 and Brady claims he is feeling better than ever. He is able to run around the golf course in preparation for The Match next week and work on his sprinting for the first time in a few years. Being able "to train in certain ways" like jumping has allowed the veteran to up his game.

This fall will be Brady's 23rd NFL season and he will be aiming to earn his record eighth Super Bowl title. Oddsmakers seem to like his chances considering the Buccaneers have the second-best odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at +750, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
