Tom Brady was surprisingly candid when asked about his relationship with Antonio Brown. Coming from the New England Patriots, one would assume Brady would dodge speaking about a controversial lightning rod like Brown.

But he actually shared some pretty interesting insight into his thought process regarding their relationship during an interview on Tuesday.

Essentially, Brady highlighted how many teammates helped guide him on the right path when he was starting out in New England. Naturally he'd want to reciprocate by doing the same now that he's become such an important figure and leader in the NFL.

He also mentioned that he comes from a relatively privileged background, and acknowledged that not everyone grew up with the same advantages that he did.

But in trademark fashion, he dodged the question a little bit by giving more of a macro answer instead of specifically speaking about Brown.

Whether Brown actually deserves another chance in the NFL is up for debate (to say the least), but it's clear Brady and the Buccaneers are giving him one.

Brown is set to make his season debut in Week 9, when the Bucs take on the New Orleans Saints. FanDuel Sportsbook lists Tampa Bay as 4.5-point home favorites in that one.
