Former NFL head coach Todd Haley has found a new team to call home in the United States Football League. The 54-year-old has reportedly been hired to lead the Tampa Bay Bandits in a league that is set to play 10 regular season games and will run from April 16 through the middle of June.

Todd Haley Coaching

Of course, Haley is best known for his head coaching stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. He compiled a record of 19-26 from 2009 to 2011 before being fired by the team. He also served as an offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, last appearing in the NFL back in 2018.

The USFL will be made up of eight teams from across the country and also announced the hiring of other notable names such as Kevin Sumlin and Mike Riley. Coaches will be responsible for player evaluation and eventual selection, which is set to take place at the end of February (22-23).

Games are set to be televised on FOX Sports and the hope is that the second go around will be better than the first. The USFL was launched back in 1983, but fell apart after just three seasons due to financial issues. In the end, Haley has an opportunity to prove he still has what it takes to coach.
