Anthony Firkser has spent his first three seasons in the NFL learning under some of the best receiving tight ends in the game with the Tennessee Titans. However, longtime NFL tight end Delanie Walker believes it is Firkers' time to shine now.

Anythony Firkser Titans

Walker spoke about his former teammate during a podcast appearance with Turron Davenport of and said that Firkser has the talent around him to excel in 2021.

"He sat under me for years and I tried to teach him everything I know, but the dude got wiggles. He can get open, he can catch the ball. I think he going to be elite."

That is some high praise from a three-time Pro Bowler that has racked up 5,888 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns in his career. It's easy to see that the Firkser has the frame (6-foot-2, 246 pounds) and speed needed to destroy opposing linebackers in coverage.

The 26-year-old showed flashes of potential last season when he posted 387 yards and 1 touchdown on 39 receptions. Firkser performed well despite only playing in 32% of Tennessee's offensive snaps. All things considered, Walker seems just as excited about Firkser's role as Titans fans do themselves.

"That’s what it comes down to, just hope he does well. I know he built his confidence over the years. Now he has that opportunity to be the starter."

A big year from Firkser could allow the Titans to take a hold on the AFC South. Tennessee currently has odds set at +115 to win the division and odds set at +2800 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
