The Tennessee Titans' 2020 season ended in the Wild Card round when they fell to the Baltimore Ravens and they now head into the offseason with some important decisions to make. However, Titans General Manager Jon Robison has hinted that two major offensive contributors won't return next season.
Starting tight end Jonnu Smith and wide receiver Corey Davis both enter free agency this offseason and could see interest from a number of NFL teams. These two have been consistent playmakers and top targets for quarterback Ryan Tannehill over the last few seasons.
Smith put up career-best numbers this past season hauling in 41 of 65 targets for 448 yards and 8 touchdowns. More importantly, he was a go-to option near the endzone for the team as he led all Titans' receivers with 19 red zone targets.
Lining up alongside fellow wide receiver AJ Brown, Davis enjoyed another successful season racking up a career-high 984 yards on 65 receptions and scoring 5 touchdowns. He was a reliable No. 2 receiver. If he does not return, that is a hole the Titans will need to fill via other free agent options.
Losing two offensive starters will not be easy for the Titans and it is surprising to see the front office not pushing to re-sign either player. In the end, it may simply come down to money and if other teams are willing to pay more, it would be smart for Smith and Davis to part ways with Tennessee.
