The NFC South will be a fun division to watch in 2020, with two new starting quarterbacks joining two established divisional threats. The top presumed teams in the division are the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who now feature Tom Brady chucking the football.

The NFL free agency period has layers of strategy. Not only do teams add players to improve their roster, but they also add players so other teams cannot. This is why we see players switching teams within the division. In 2021, the Saints should try to hurt the Buccaneers by signing linebacker Lavonte David.

David has spent all eight of his NFL seasons down in Tampa. He has made one Pro Bowl, one first-team All-Pro and one second-team All-Pro. He has amassed over 1,000 tackles in his 121 starts, intercepting 11 passes and sacking the quarterback 22.5 times.

The Saints are fully aware of David's skills, after facing him 16 times now. In these games, the linebacker has totaled 123 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five quarterback hits and 12 tackles for a loss.

Adding David would give the Saints another quality starter at outside linebacker, but it also improves their depth at the position. This will help New Orleans later in the game, due to the ability to rotate players and keep guys fresh. Last season, the Saints ranked tied for 20th in fourth quarter points allowed (6.6). Winning the fourth quarter will usually lead teams to win games, so stealing David from Tampa would be a wise choice.
