People often wonder how oddsmakers can be so spot-on. Whether it's being a point off an NBA projected total or somehow accounting for a college football game to go into triple overtime, there have been some incredibly spot-on odds. However, sometimes there are odds that are inexplicable.

For example, the New York Mets currently have the seventh-best odds to win the 2020 World Series (+2000), according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Given these odds, the Mets very well could be the most overrated team in baseball.

Of course, the recent news with the Mets has been the situation with outfielder Yoenis Céspedes. First, he was reported missing. Now, we are aware that he decided to walk away from his team and opt out of the MLB season.

Céspedes, of course, cites coronavirus concerns as his reason for opting out. While this may be true, he likely would not have opted out in such an alarming way, if he felt the team around him was truly outstanding and that they had a chance to win it all. With him gone, they lose someone that had already hit two home runs this season, with four RBI overall.

Even before the Céspedes drama, the Mets had gotten off to a horrendous start. They currently sit last in the NL East, with a 4-7 record. While there's a lot of baseball to be played, they may not even be top-three in their division, with the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies all looking like better teams early on.

Yet, the Mets have the seventh-best odds to win the World Series, which seems pretty tough to justify.
