There is no love lost between the NFL's oldest rivalry and the border battle between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers currently lead the all-time series, 99-95-6, so the Bears need to make some changes in order to get the series back in their favor.

One of the ways Chicago can take steps to do this is stealing some players from their northern rivals in free agency. For example, the Bears should try to steal Lane Taylor from the Packers in the 2021 free agency.

The struggles of the Bears' offensive line is well documented. Last season, they had the 25th-ranked offensive line in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus. Where they struggle most is in the interior at the guard spots. Luckily, Taylor is an offensive guard.

Chicago is also not trying to be a ground and pound team, but they obviously have had quarterback issues that have hurt the passing attack. What hasn't helped their passer is the horrendous protection up front, with an average time to pressure being 2.37 seconds, which was the fourth-worst in the NFL.

Taylor thrives in pass protection. While he missed most of last season due to injury, Taylor gave up just three sacks in 2017 and one sack in 2016. Should he get back to being elite in pass protection, he will give the Bears an offensive edge over the strong pass rush of the Packers.
