Updated (Friday, Dec. 25, 1:13 EST): Terry McLaurin is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's game due to his ankle injury. His status certainly seems in jeopardy and fantasy managers should prepare for the Washington wideout to be unavailable this week. Cam Sims would likely step into McLaurin's No. 1 WR role if the receiver can't suit up against the Carolina Panthers.

The Washington Football Team did not have their No. 1 wide receiver at practice on Wednesday as Terry McLaurin sat out due to an ankle injury. The extent of the injury is unknown at this point, but it certainly clouds McLaurin's fantasy value against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

It is worth mentioning that McLaurin has missed a practice early in the week multiple times this season just to rest. However, we won't know if that was the case this time until we see how he participates for the rest of the week.

Terry McLaurin Fantasy Outlook

McLaurin has been a reliable go-to receiver for Washington all season as he has seen at least 6 targets in every game so far, including a team-high 12 just last week. While he hasn't reached the end zone since Week 9, he has racked up at least 75 receiving yards in six of his last eight games played.

The Panthers have done a solid job this season at covering opposing wide receivers, but struggle to shut down players who see a high amount of targets like McLaurin. In fact, there have been 17 wide receivers with at least 6 targets in a game against the Panthers and 16 of them finished with double-digit fantasy points.

Keep an eye on McLaurin as the week goes on to see if his ankle injury is anything to worry about. Make sure to have a backup option available in case he isn't able to play. If he does suit up, his role in this offense and consistent target share gives him a lot of upside this week.
