Surprising Chiefs Newcomer Emerges as Training Camp Standout
By Larry Rupp

The Kansas City Chiefs have become synonymous with developing some of the NFL's top offensive superstars. Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are just a few names that come to mind. Rookie Isiah Pacheco is looking to add his name to that list after emerging as a training camp standout.
"Perhaps it’s still premature to announce a newcomer as the star of camp so far. But rookie running back Isiah Pacheco continued his impressive ascension with a leaping reception over rookie linebacker Mike Rose on an intermediate pass from Mahomes."https://t.co/VXKpssFcw1

Nate Taylor of The Athletic noted that Pacheco's impressive ascension has been on full display so far. The running back put on a show for the crowd when he leaped over a fellow rookie in linebacker Mike Jones to haul in a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. It gave a glimpse into his true potential.
Pacheco is making a name for himself on the special teams unit, too. He has already been tabbed as the team's primary returner and has been using his speed to regularly make defenders whiff. Keep in mind Pacheco clocked in with the fastest 40-yard dash among RBs at the 2022 NFL Combine (4.37).
The seventh-round draft pick is used to being utilized all over the field as he took on a similar role for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Pacheco racked up 2,691 yards from scrimmage to go along with 19 touchdowns across four college seasons. He also averaged 4.4 yards per touch in 43 games.
Training camp practices as well as three preseason games will give Pacheco more than enough opportunities to prove why he deserves to rise on the depth chart. For now, the Chiefs have the third-best odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy this season at +950, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
