Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg went down with a calf injury in Sunday's Grapefruit League game, and a preseason injury to a star pitcher is always going to worry fans.

Stephen Strasburg Injury News

Nats fans got some great news on Thursday, however. After making it through a bullpen session with no issues on Wednesday, Strasburg will throw a four-inning simulated game on Friday.

At this rate, it's looking like Strasburg shouldn't have any issues being ready for the beginning of the 2021 regular season.

Max Scherzer will likely handle Opening Day pitching duties, but fans will hopefully see Strasburg back in action on Saturday, April 3, when the Nats host the New York Mets for an afternoon game.

The 32-year-old Strasburg barely had a chance to pitch in 2020, but the 2019 World Series MVP has posted an ERA better than 3.75 in every single MLB season in which he has made 5-plus starts.
