The NFL world was changed forever this past week when the well-known coach and broadcaster John Madden passed away. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs has decided to pay his respects in the best way he knows how. The Buffalo Bills' star featured the late legend on his game-day cleats on Sunday.
Diggs has built a reputation over the years for his creativity in cleat design, but this one may top them all. Of course, Madden guided the Oakland Raiders to their first Super Bowl Championship in 1977 before entering the world of sportscasting. He ended his illustrious career with 16 sports Emmy awards.
This won't be the only time Madden is honored by an NFL player given the impact he was able to make across the sport. While the NFL has been strict about fining players with customized uniform options that break the rules in the past, it wouldn't be surprising to see the league let this one slide.
The Bills will look to stay atop the AFC East division with a win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. Digg's efforts will be front and center in what is set to be another cold day at Highmark Stadium. Buffalo heads into that matchup as 14.5-point home favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
