Steelers Early Offseason Moves are Worrying

The Pittsburgh Steelers face a crucial offseason in 2021 after floundering to end the 2020 season and getting bounced early from the playoffs. Aging quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is giving the Steelers reason to prep for the future, and they have several key free agents to deal with.
But, Pittsburgh's early moves so far are a cause for concern.
Hue Jackson Steelers
Failed NFL head coach Hue Jackson is reportedly interviewing for the Steelers' vacant offensive coordinator position, which is puzzling on many levels.

Jackson's last coaching stint was as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, who were abysmal in his tenure, going just 3-36-1 over two and a half seasons. The Steelers beat up on Cleveland in that timeframe, so for Pittsburgh to be considering Jackson is downright crazy.
In Jackson's nine NFL seasons as a head coach or offensive coordinator, he's had an offense that ranks in the top-10 in points just twice (2010, 2015) and yards just twice (2010, 2011).
For a Steelers offense that needs to be given life, Jackson isn't the guy.
Dwayne Haskins Steelers
Former first-round pick Dwayne Haskins is reportedly meeting with Pittsburgh, which is another troubling development.

While Haskins impressed as a sophomore and played his way into being the No. 15 pick in 2018, his college success has not translated to the NFL. Haskins has thrown for just 12 TDs and 14 INTs in his two years so far.
More troubling is Haskins' off-field antics, which caused him to be released by the Washington Football Team before Week 17.
It's certainly fair to question not only Haskins' abilities as a quarterback, but also his maturity level. The risks in both areas make him a bigger headache than is worth taking on.
