Sports Illustrated Predicts Surprise Packers Player to Make First Pro Bowl

Last season, Robert Tonyan broke out in a big way for the Green Bay Packers. The third-year tight end enjoyed a monster season after catching a league-leading 11 touchdowns (T-1st amongst tight ends) on 52 receptions for 586 yards.
Despite the career year, Tonyan was majorly subbed and did not earn a spot on the 2020 Pro Bowl roster. Well, Sports Illustrated believes that Tonyan is in for another big year and should earn his first-ever Pro Bowl selection in just his fourth NFL season next year.

Packers News
Tonyan was masterful in the red zone last season. In fact, he ranked top-15 in the NFL with his 7 red zone scores. Tonyan was a perfect 7-for-7 on his red zone targets, converting all of these to touchdowns.
There's definitely a question of whether Tonyan will match his 2020 performance if Green Bay is unable to retain quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason. With the Rodgers rumors continuing to swirl, Tonyan can at least hang his hat on Green Bay's offensive scheme. According to Sports Illustrated, the Packers' scheme ranked second in the most separation per route run (more than four yards).
Regardless, Green Bay should expect some big things from its fourth-year tight end in 2021.
