All eyes are on the Cleveland Browns as they navigate a tricky situation with incumbent quarterback Baker Mayfield. The former No. 1 overall pick is likely on his way out after the team landed Deshaun Watson this offseason, but Cleveland has been greeted by a cool trade market for the Oklahoma product.

If the Browns ultimately cut Mayfield, it turns out a shocking team would aim to sign him.

Insider Jeff Darlington appeared on ESPN's "Get Up!" show Wednesday and said "If the Browns cut Baker Mayfield, he would sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers the very next day."

This is obviously an eyebrow-raising revelation and one that will likely annoy Browns fans. Mayfield heading to an AFC North rival with the Browns' secrets certainly wouldn't be an ideal scenario, should the two sides part.

There's also the chance that Mayfield becomes a thorn in Cleveland's side for years to come if Pittsburgh is able to unlock his true potential. The Watson trade, though exciting, doesn't guarantee the Browns anything, while Mayfield is the one who helped break their playoff drought after all.

Fans' disdain for Mayfield would only grow if ended up on the team's bitter rival. Hopefully Cleveland is able to find a deal and get something back for the former Rookie of the Year, rather than lose him for nothing and see him end up back in the division.
