Seahawks Steal New Quarterbacks Coach From Division Rival

The Seattle Seahawks' unexpected showing during the 2022 season was bound to catch the attention of other teams around the league. One unintended consequence of Seattle's playoff run was quarterbacks coach Dave Canales being poached by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to become their new offensive coordinator.
However, it appears Pete Carroll has already found Canales' replacement.
The Seahawks are expected to hire Rams senior offensive assistant Greg Olson as their next quarterbacks coach, sources say.

Seattle Seahawks News
Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports the Seahawks are planning to hire Greg Olson -- not to be confused with former Pro Bowl tight end and current TV announcer Greg Olsen -- as their next QBs coach. This move will help Seattle and hurt a division rival in the process, as Olson was an offensive assistant for the Los Angeles Rams this past season.
The almost 60-year-old is an NFL veteran coaching with a wealth of experience spanning two decades in the NFL in various roles with multiple teams, so he appears to know what he's doing.
The fact that so many different franchises have entrusted their offense to Olson speaks volumes about his knowledge. He's led a few top-10 units in his time, so he's certainly capable of helping fill the void left by Canales.
Getting an extremely qualified coach like Olson to oversee the QB group is big win for the Seahawks. Hopefully he'll have the chance to continue Geno Smith's development in 2023.
