Seahawks Open as Shockingly Small Favorites Against Falcons in Week 1
By michael obermuller

The Seattle Seahawks took some people by surprise last season when they went 11-5 with expectations that began as a possible down-season for Pete Carroll's team. You might say that the veteran-led Atlanta Falcons had more lofty praise from analysts heading into 2019, before their 2-6 start that finished at 7-9.
These two NFC teams did meet in late October of last season, when the Seahawks won, 27-20, in Atlanta. They will head back to the ATL Week 1 of 2020, and FanDuel Sportsbook has all the odds.

Seahawks vs Falcons Spread Week 1
The Seahawks have opened as 1-point favorites despite their road designation. As we know, Seattle would have easily covered this number in 2019, winning by seven away from home. There is little reason to believe this will not happen again either.
Even though Seattle has restructured its offensive line a bit this offseason, cutting older players in favor of younger and cheaper backups, not much has changed about their offense. They have actually added weapons in Greg Olsen and Phillip Dorsett. On defense, they acquired cornerback Quinton Dunbar and drafted a few players, but the main unknown is still Jadeveon Clowney who remains unsigned.

As for Atlanta, they hope to get healthier in 2020 as they let most of their veteran free agents walk. They did bring in Todd Gurley and Hayden Hurst to replace Devonta Freeman and Austin Hooper.
Neither roster has faced dynamic changes this offseason, so in some ways we'll be getting a rematch of last year's face-off. Russell Wilson versus Matt Ryan, Pete Carroll versus Dan Quinn (former colleagues in Seattle). If things go anything like last time, Seattle should be on its way to clearing a 1-point margin with ease.
