The Seattle Seahawks pulled off a huge 28-21 Week 4 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately, defensive end Carlos Dunlap suffered a troublesome injury in the process.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Monday that Dunlap sprained his toe during the win. Seattle now has a quick turnaround with their Week 5 matchup being on Thursday, so it remains to be seen if the two-time Pro-Bowler will be game-ready by then or not.

Carroll further added that Dunlap's sprained toe — also known as "turf toe" — will make it difficult for the defender to play this week. Normally, he'd have a few extra days to get into game shape, however, a Thursday Night Football game lessens that probability.

Dunlap was traded from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Seahawks in the middle of the 2020 NFL season for center B.J. Finney and a seventh-round selection at this past April's draft. The veteran defensive end finished the season strong, tallying 14 total tackles and 5.0 sacks in eight games.

Unfortunately, Dunlap hasn't looked himself to start the 2021 campaign. While he's played in all four of Seattle's games, he's tallied just 3 total tackles and a pass defended without any sacks.

With or without Dunlap this week, the Seahawks are in for a difficult battle against one of their NFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Rams. FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting the game to be a close one, with the Rams as 1.5-point road favorites.
