The 2020 NFL season was one of the strangest campaigns to date. The COVID-19 pandemic forced teams to reduce fan capacity throughout the season. While some franchises were allowed to have some amount of fans, the Seattle Seahawks played in an empty Lumen Field for the home portion of their season.
Nevertheless, those dark days are in the past. The Seahawks received approval from the NFL and public health and government officials on Tuesday that would allow full fan capacity at Lumen Field for the 2021 season.

Fans won't be required to be fully vaccinated if they want to attend a Seahawks home game. However, vaccinated fans won't be required to wear a mask while those who are unvaccinated still have to. The Seahawks organization will be following Washington state's re-opening guidelines, which means that rules and restrictions can change depending on what the COVID-19 situation looks like. Nevertheless, it's still exciting to see the return of the "12th Man" next season and, judging by the tweets by Seahawks players below, they're pretty pumped up as well.
While the Seahawks players surely missed playing in front of a roaring home crowd, you couldn't tell it by their home record. Seattle went 7-1 at home in 2020, averaging 28.6 points per game at Lumen Field (10th) while allowing just 21.6 PPG (9th).
The Seahawks are hoping to use the momentum that their home crowd brings to help them towards a Super Bowl run. FanDuel Sportsbook currently has Seattle listed at +2300 odds (9th) to win Super Bowl 56 next season.
