Starting at 11:35 a.m. ET, we have 13 races Saturday at Saratoga for Travers Stakes Day. Using
numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing.

As always, check the program at "The Spa" for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions).

According to numberFire Racing's projections, these are the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.

1. Jack Christopher, Race 8

FanDuel Racing Odds: 6/5

Race 8 is the $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial (G1) for 3-year-olds at 7 furlongs. The numberFire data projects a low payoff with the heavy favorite Jack Christopher (6/5) the winner. Even at the “graveyard of favorites” it is going to be tough to take down this well managed and fast colt out of the Chad Brown barn. He's flawless in 1-turn races, and Horse Racing Nation (HRN) calls for another peak effort in his form cycle.

Horses to use underneath in Exacta and Trifecta wagering include Accretive (9/2), Gunite (6/1), Howling Time (10/1) and Conagher (7/2).

2. Search Results and Malathaat, Race 9

FanDuel Racing Odds: 7/2 and 5/2

Race 9 is the $600,000 Personal Ensign (G1) for older fillies and mares at 1 1/8 miles. Just five runners with low payoff potential, but several top fillies in training. The lone mare is Letruska (3/1), who will go to the front against the fillies, but not likely to hold up.

Search Results (7/2) has a pair of graded stakes wins this year, and she has finished top-3 in the Trifecta in all 10 career starts.

Malathaat (5/2) lost to Clairiere (6/5) in a recent graded stakes race as the favorite, but HRN notes she is 4-for-5 in the Exacta at this distance and 3-for-3 on this surface. Malathaat is ridden by HOF record-breaking jockey, John Velazquez. Clairiere is a clear contender but no value, as she's 3-for-3 this year including a Grade 1 win.

3. Soldier Rising and Broome, Race 10

FanDuel Racing Odds: 15/1 and 3/1

Race 10 is the $750,000 Sword Dancer (G1) for older horses going 1 1/2 miles on the inner turf. The "Win and You're In" winner gets an automatic entry to the Breeders' Cup Turf in November.

Broome (3/1) ships in from England as a lead contender for top trainer Aidan O'Brien. He finished a very close 2nd in last November's Breeders' Cup Turf, and has won this year while also running well against stronger horses in bigger Group stakes. Leading trainer Chad Brown has three runners, Adhamo (7/2), Tribhuvan (5/1) and Rockemperor (8/1).

But Soldier Rising (15/1) with Jose Ortiz riding offers great value, and Horse Racing Nation notes he's been quietly establishing himself as one of top local marathon turf players. He is 4-for-4 in the Exacta at this distance including 3 wins. Soldier Rising has an 11-for-12 record in the Trifecta on turf, and is the stablemate of contender Gufo (9/2), another contender with trainer Christophe Clement conditions both runners.
