Saquon Barkley Taking Major Next Step in Injury Rehab

For New York Giants fans during this offseason and training camp, all eyes have been on the injury recovery of superstar running back Saquon Barkley.
Barkley continues to rehab after a season-ending ACL tear in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL regular season. The 2018 NFLOffensive Rookie of the Year has been active at Giants training camp, though held to a very cautious approach from the team. In fact, Barkley hasn't participated in organized team drills, rather working out on the side with individual drills.

Saquon Barkley Injury Update
Ian Rapoport revealed on Sunday that Barkley should be cleared to participate in team drills next week, including reps during the Giants' joint practice with the New England Patriots.
This is, by far, the best and biggest step forward that Giants fans have seen during Barkley's lengthy injury recovery. It comes with the expectation and understanding that the Patriots are fully aware and cognizant of Barkley's injury history. But, all in all, this is a major step forward.
Rapoport also reported that the Giants have not yet ruled out Barkley's full availability for Week 1 of the 2021 NFL regular season.
Currently, the Giants own -300 odds to miss out on the playoffs, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. New York sits with +230 odds to make the postseason and a fully healthy Barkley could go a long way in swaying those odds.
