Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins will hit the market and be an unrestricted free agent in March, 2021. His three seasons with the Chiefs will finish with at least one Super Bowl title. The former top-five pick in the 2014 NFL Draft will play with his fourth team in 2021 if he signs a new contract. Watkins signed a guaranteed $8 million one-year restructured deal the Chiefs prior to the 2020 season, and Kansas City likely won't resign him at those terms.

Watkins' injury issues will prevent him from signing a lucrative deal, as he played in just 10 games for the Chiefs in two of the last three seasons. In 2020, Watkins had 37 receptions on 55 targets for 421 yards and two touchdowns. His best season with the Chiefs was 2019 when he caught 52 balls for 673 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Watkins will join a deep wide receiver free agent pool for the 2021 offseason. Here are three teams that could add a veteran receiver like Sammy Watkins.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are rebuilding, but they will have a franchise quarterback when they pick Trevor Lawrence No. 1 in the 2021 NFL Draft. New head coach Urban Meyer could make a pitch for Watkins to join the Jaguars young receiving corps if the price is right. The Jaguars have the most cap space of all NFL teams, according to Over The Cap, so they can spend if they decide Watkins is worth the risk.

2. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are another another team with enough money to spend. The Dolphins have a primary need at wide receiver with DeVante Parker as the team's only proven performer. Watkins could join a team on the rise and rich with draft picks along last year's first-round pick, QB Tua Tagvailoa.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

If Watkins wants to join another team in need of receivers and a rising star quarterback, then the Cincinnati Bengals are a fit. Quarterback Joe Burrow was the No. 1 pick in the 2020 draft, and he showed great poise, promise and produced in his rookie season before a season-ending ACL injury. The Bengals have the sixth-most salary cap space in the NFL, and Cincinnati will surely upgrade their offensive line through the draft. They will likely add a free-agent receiver as well to join rising young receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.
