Miami Dolphins running back Matt Breida has seen his fair share of work in the backfield this season as the team has experimented with various different options. However, Breida missed Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a hamstring injury. If the injury persists, Salvon Ahmed becomes a worthwhile fantasy RB option.

With Breida and fellow running back Jordan Howard inactive in Week 10, Ahmed stepped up as the lead back and established himself as a solid fantasy producer.

Salvon Ahmed Fantasy Outlook

With Breida, the now-released Howard and Myles Gaskin all on the shelf, Ahmed defaults into a workhorse RB role.

He delivered on that opportunity with 16 fantasy points (PPR). Ahmed played in 76% of the team's offensive snaps. He also shouldered 84% of the team's total rushes with 21 attempts for 85 yards and 1 touchdown against the Chargers.

Ahmed's fantasy status is trending upward with Breida uncertain for Week 11 against the Denver Broncos and the Dolphins' decision to release Howard. Breida's 6.4 opportunities that are available in his absence should benefit fantasy managers with Ahmed on the roster.

If Breida is unable to play on Sunday, Ahmed will likely be the lead back against a Bronco defense that is allowing 23.8 fantasy points (PPR) to opposing running backs this season. Ahmed is an appealing option for any fantasy team needing RB help, especially with Gaskin on IR until at least Week 12.
