Just a few days away from the NFL's first London game in 2022, the New Orleans Saints' offense is dealing with a number of injuries to key players. This includes both quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver Michael Thomas.
Unfortunately, the news did not get better on Thursday as the two playmakers both logged their second straight day of "Did Not Practice" status.
Saints Injury Report
This is a confusing update from New Orleans' side after all reports suggested Winston would, in fact, practice on Thursday.
Jameis Winston Injury Update
As of Wednesday, Winston maintained confidence in his ability to suit up against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. However, the details around his nagging back injury are not encouraging whatsoever. Winston is dealing with four fractures in his back from L1 down to L4.
He has played in both games since the details of this injury surfaced, but the Saints' offense lacked a certain punch and totaled just 24 points across Weeks 2 and 3 combined. Winston's poor play has contributed to that performance, as he's thrown 5 interceptions over the last two weeks while tallying just 2 touchdown passes.
More importantly, the veteran signal-caller did log at least limited participation status ahead of these two previous games, enabling him to suit up.
Not only is Winston's status very much up in the air, but the status of top wideout Michael Thomas is also unclear. Thomas did not practice on Thursday as he continues to deal with a foot ailment.
For now, the Saints are considered 2.5-point underdogs for this London clash according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
