The New Orleans Saints are looking to rebound in the 2022 NFL season and rookie wideout Chris Olave is one player that's expected to help them with that goal.
The 2022 NFL Draft's 11th overall pick is someone that Saints fans are dying to see play some meaningful football games for the franchise. Although they'll have to wait a few more months for that, the Saints satisfied their fanbase's appetite on Friday by tweeting the first look at Olave in a New Orleans jersey.
Chris Olave Saints Jersey
Saints fans have to love how natural Olave looks in their team's jersey. He'll be sporting No. 12 in the upcoming season after wearing No. 2 during his playing time at Ohio State.
Olave was a scoring machine during his four seasons as a Buckeye, racking up 35 touchdown receptions in 38 games. He also had a total of 175 catches for 2,702 yards. Needless to say, it's easy to see why his eventual NFL debut is so highly anticipated — especially after the price that the Saints paid to draft him.
The organization hopes that Olave and a healthy Michael Thomas will help turn around an offense that averaged the fewest passing yards per game (187.4) in 2021.
Jameis Winston did play well under center before his season-ending injury and could have an even better year with two high-end wideouts to target. Throw in running back Alvin Kamara into the mix and it's clear that New Orleans has the ingredients to bounce back.
Olave and the Saints must work hard to prove to their doubters that they have a playoff team on their hands. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently favoring them to miss the 2022-23 NFL postseason at -170 odds.
