The 2021 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and the final mock drafts of the season are starting to be published. In its latest mock, ProFootballFocus has the New Orleans Saints getting a huge steal at No. 28 overall by selecting Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley.

Caleb Farley Saints Rumors

Farley is considered one of the top cornerback prospects in this class, but concerns about a back injury are starting to arise. This may cause him to fall in the first round, and he'd be an incredible value at No. 28.

Farley shined in the secondary with the Hokies racking up 56 tackles, 19 passes defended and 6 interceptions during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He opted out of playing in 2020, but has proven he has all the tools necessary to compete at the next level.

He has a solid frame as a 6-foot-2, 207-pound cornerback. Plus, Farley ran an impressive unofficial 4.28 40-yard dash back on March 5th before he needed a back procedure done. His combination of size and speed allows him to match up with a variety of offensive players.

PFF has Farley as the fourth cornerback coming off the board behind Patrick Surtain II, Jaycee Horn and Greg Newsome II. With a potential to be the top cornerback in this class, Farley would be a great get for a Saints team that just lost veteran starter Janoris Jenkins this offseason.

If he's actually still on the board at No. 28, New Orleans should sprint to the podium.
