The Denver Broncos offense is undergoing a ton of change in 2022, but one source of continuity will be their backfield. We already knew breakout rookie Javonte Williams was back in town, and now Melvin Gordon will officially re-join him to bring back the one-two punch. Gordon signed a 1-year, $5 million contract with Denver on Thursday.

Gordon's new franchise quarterback Russell Wilson responded to the news with exactly the kind of Tweet you'd expect from Russ.

There's no denying that Wilson is a terrific teammate, and immediately hyping up Gordon after the signing shows that. And the corny-but-endearing tone of the Tweet is classic Russ. Of course it's positive, of course it's loaded with exclamation marks, of course it tags the Broncos' Twitter account and of course it includes a cheesy pun. And all of that is why Russ is so lovable.

It's also not hard to see why he's excited. Williams may be the high-upside back that people are expecting the most from, but Gordon contributed 1,131 yards from scrimmage last season, and his 4.9 yards per touch only barely trailed Williams' 5.0.

This "stable" is certainly poised to do some damage in 2022, especially with Wilson finally giving the Broncos a dangerous passing attack that opponents will be forced to respect.

FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl odds have the Broncos at +1600 to win it all in 2022, which is tied for the sixth-best odds in the NFL. #LetsRide
