Russell Westbrook is headed to the Washington Wizards after being traded from the Houston Rockets for John Wall and a first-round pick. The new scenery for Westbrook shouldn't change his standing as one of the best point guards in fantasy basketball.

Russell Westbrook Fantasy Outlook

Westbrook is coming off of yet another All-Star season in 2019-20, averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He continued to stuff the stat sheet, racking up 8 triple-doubles, while adjusting to a new system and role in Houston.

The frenetic point guard was one of the best fantasy producers in the league last year, ranking 11th overall and fifth among points guards in fantasy points (2,666.7) despite playing in only 57 games. In spite of his lacking 3-point game (only 55 made in 2019-20), he continually finds ways to run up his box score numbers.

Westbrook especially excels in creating open looks for teammates by attacking the rim, so he should be well suited to boost his assist numbers with Bradley Beal (35.3% on 3s in 2019-20), Davis Bertans (42.4%) and Thomas Bryant (40.7%) all providing deadly 3-point shooting options on the perimeter.

Westbrook will enter a similar situation in Washington next to a superstar shooting guard in Bradley Beal, but that duo will be the centerpiece of the Wizards' offense.

You can count on Westbrook to put gaudy numbers for a team that went 25-47 in 2019-20 and perform like a top-15 fantasy pick.
