The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season ended earlier than hoped on Monday night thanks to a brutal loss to the Dallas Cowboys during Wild Card Weekend. Although there's plenty of questions surrounding the Buccaneers offseason, fans were most eager to know the status of wide receiver Russell Gage after a scary on-field injury.

Gage sent a message to his fans on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

The message was a big relief and read, "I appreciate all of the texts, calls, thoughts and prayers you all have expressed towards my family and I. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm doing great and in great spirits! Thank you!"

It's still unclear the exact nature of Gages injury, outside that it relates to a "neck injury and concussion" per team statements. At the very least, it's an encouraging sign that Gage was already able to reach out to fans to give a positive update.
