Denver Broncos' running back Royce Freeman has frustrated fantasy owners of fellow Broncos' RB Phillip Lindsay often this season, with the two splitting snaps in the Denver Broncos backfield. Both players have been viable for fantasy this season, which should continue this week, as Freeman's outlook is bright following steady work in the passing game.

It may be surprising to know that Freeman is RB21 in PPR scoring this season, since he does not look like the prototypical receiving back and he has not had any weeks that have blown us away. Instead, it's his consistency that brings value.

Freeman ranks 13th among running backs in target market share (14 percent) and he has at least four receptions in five of his seven games this season. The Week 8 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts is shaping up to be another solid day through the air for Freeman.

As 5.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Broncos will likely have a game script tailored more toward passing options for this Sunday. After trading away Emmanuel Sanders earlier this week, there is an average of 6.3 targets up for grabs in his absence. This could lead to an uptick of targets for Freeman, as an already steady producer in Denver's passing game.

In our Week 8 PPR rankings, Freeman comes in at RB27 in this matchup.
