Royals Get Bad News With Adalberto Mondesi Injury Update

The Kansas City Royals young star shortstop Adalberto Mondesi seemed primed for a big year in 2021, then he was hit with the injury bug, missing the first 40-plus games of the season before finally returning to the lineup and proceeding to tear it up for about a week. Then the injuries came calling again.

While the severity of his injury was not immediately known, Mondesi is now officially headed back to the IL with a hamstring injury.

This is a tough break for a Royals team that has struggled to score runs this year at times (14th in MLB). Mondesi, in just seven games this season was hitting .360 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. For now he is on just the 10-day IL, and with numbers like he was putting up, Royals fans desperately hope it's nothing more than that.
