Colorado Rockies fans were glad to see outfielder Kris Bryant back in the lineup on Saturday as he made his return from a stint on the injured list. Cause for concern came yesterday, though, as Bryant was scratched just one hour prior to first pitch because his back issues flared up once again.

Kris Bryant Injury Update

Bryant was available to pinch hit off the bench and manager Bud Black said that he went through his entire pregame routine. However, it's never good to see a player suffer a similar issue to what kept them off the field for an extended period of time. Bryant's status remains up in the air at the moment.

The 30-year-old will be reevaluated on Tuesday, which should provide more clarity as to when he could be back on the diamond. The Rockies could use Bryant back as soon as possible after going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position in a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night.

Of course, Bryant was signed to a massive seven-year deal worth $182 million this offseason to provide some pop for Colorado. While his career slash line of .278/.376/.333 is impressive, the four-time All-Star has yet to hit a home run this season and has racked up just 4 RBI in 17 games played.
