After receiving a massive contract from the Colorado Rockies this past offseason, Kris Bryant's production though his first season in the Mile High City can be described as anything but. Bryant has only played in 36 games this season due to various injuries and it looks like that trend could be continuing.
Kris Bryant Injury Update
On Monday, it was reported that Bryant would be going to see a specialist for his sore foot. Manager Bud Black said that it was something that has been bothering the former NL MVP for a few days.
While we won't know the extent of Bryant's injury until he goes to the specialist, its probably not a good sign in the first place. Although it could be a precautionary move and this particular injury might just keep Bryant on the shelf for a few days, seeing a specialist could mean they fear something more serious is going on.
Bryant is hitting .300 with 5 home runs and 14 RBI in his limited action this season, so he is putting up solid production when on the field, problem is that's only been about 1/3 of the time this season.
The Rockies chance at winning the NL West are virtually zero as they sit in fourth place and 21.0 games out of first, but they are just 7.0 games out of the last Wild Card spot. Surely 7.0 games is not easy number to make up in the final two months of the season, but not impossible.
Colorado currently has +500000 odds to win the 2022 World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds. Any chance at a miracle run they have will need to include a healthy Bryant.
