Rockies Get Bad News on Raimel Tapia Toe Injury

There hasn't been much news stemming from the Colorado Rockies in 2021. Colorado sits 10 games under .500 and 20.0 games out of the NL West division lead.
When looking for a bright spot, it's easy to find one with outfielder Raimel Tapia. Tapia has been sensational over the past two seasons thanks to some pesky hitting at the top of Colorado's lineup.
Unfortunately for the Rockies, some bad news came out on Tuesday as Tapia is headed to the 10-day injured list to recover from a lingering toe issue.

Rockies News
Tapia lands on the 10-day IL following an early exit from Sunday's contest against the Miami Marlins. He managed just two innings and one at-bat before being lifted. The news got worse when it was revealed some extended rest is required to get him back to 100%.
On the year, Tapia has appeared in 105 games while slashing .288/.339/.386 with 24 doubles, 5 home runs and 45 RBIs. This is a follow-up to his 2020 performance, when he slashed .321/.369/.402 on the year. Tapia has emerged as an important franchise piece moving forward, considering he's only 27 years old.
It looks like a temporary setback, but one that won't help Colorado's postseason odds. Currently, the Rockies own less than favorable +50000 odds to win the NL West on FanDuel Sportsbook.
